The Nehru Sidhant Kender Trust (Trust) is deeply committed to empowering young minds, especially girl students, by giving them an opportunity to pursue higher education. To achieve this objective, the Trust has launched merit-cum-means scholarship program that fully covers tuition fees (as per the selected institute’s fee structure) to support students from diverse socio-economic backgrounds who aspire to continue their studies after 12th grade. The scholarship is for students pursuing 3-5 year undergraduate or integrated master's degrees in Commerce, Engineering, and medical fields at *selected colleges and universities in Ludhiana district. The recipients of this scholarship will be known as Satya Scholars. Through this scholarship, the Trust hopes to nurture talent, inspire dreams, and enable deserving students to pursue their education with confidence and dignity.
About Nehru Sidhant Kender Trust
The Nehru Sidhant Kender Trust was founded in the year 1983 by Late Shri Sat Paul Mittal as a tribute to the vision of India’s first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. The Trust focuses on empowering youth from diverse socio-economic backgrounds, with particular emphasis on education, especially for girl children. Since its inception, the trust has supported over 26,500 students through scholarships and awards, disbursing Rs 9.50+ crore, benefiting 70% girls, and enabling 76% of youth to secure employment through vocational training.
The Trust has established prominent educational institutions like Sat Paul Mittal School, ranked among India’s top 25 schools by Education World India (2024-25) and No. 1 in Punjab for nine consecutive years. Horizon School of Excellence in Ludhiana district provides free quality education to students from diverse socio-economic backgrounds. Since its inception, the newly launched Vocational Centre has placed over 550 students in leading industries of Ludhiana district, with an average monthly salary of approx. Rs 12,500 equipping them with skills for a brighter future
