The students receiving the scholarship shall be called Bharti Scholars.
This fully funded scholarship aims to remove financial barriers that prevent deserving students from accessing quality education. It covers 100% annual fees, including meal and accommodation charges. Additionally, all Bharti Scholars are provided a laptop in their first year to aid in their academic journey.
During the year 2024-25, against a planned intake of 250 scholars, the Bharti Airtel Scholarship was awarded to 276 scholars, of which 22% (62) were girls.
About Bharti Airtel Foundation
Bharti Airtel Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Bharti Enterprises, was established in 2000 dedicated to empowering underprivileged children and youth through quality education. With a special focus on the girl child, the Foundation also supports higher education in collaboration with premier institutions.
Since 2006, the Foundation’s flagship Satya Bharti School Program has been offering free, quality education to thousands of underprivileged children across 164 schools in rural India, spanning across four states. Currently, over 37,000 children are enrolled in these schools, of which over 51% are girls.
Under the Quality Support Program (QSP), the Foundation is partnering with 1000 government schools across 12 states and Union Territories. This program, launched in 2013, is aimed at supporting the partner schools in improving the overall quality of schooling experience by transferring successful learning methods and best practices to these schools.
In addition, Bharti Airtel Foundation was invited by several education officers at district and state level to scale up some of the initiatives through QSP State Partnerships.
Since its inception, the Foundation has impacted over 4 million children through its various programs and initiatives in education.
