The GSK Scholars Programme is a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals Ltd. (GSK Pharma), aimed at supporting academically deserving students from economically underprivileged backgrounds to pursue an MBBS degree. The programme aligns with India’s larger mission to strengthen healthcare and promote STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education.
Under this initiative, first-year MBBS students enrolled in government medical colleges are eligible to receive financial assistance of up to INR 1,00,000 per year for a period of up to 4.5 years, covering essential academic expenses throughout their course of study. To date, the the GSK Scholar Program has supported more than 300 MBBS scholars, reflecting GSK’s continued commitment to advancing equitable access to medical education in India.
